Wild Wing Preserve: gated acreage living near Columbus, Texas

·
Wild Wing Preserve is a master-planned, deed-restricted acreage community in Colorado County, about 15 minutes from the town of Columbus. It is the kind of place where the entrance alone sets the tone: a gated entry, stone and metal signage, and a sculpture of birds in flight overhead.
A community built around space
Homesites here typically range from about 2 to 15 acres, which means neighbors are close enough to be good neighbors and far enough apart to feel like you have room to breathe. Mature hardwoods, pastureland, and ponds are part of the landscape, and the lots keep a natural, wooded character rather than a cleared, cookie-cutter feel.
Streets named for the birds
The preserve takes its name from the waterfowl that pass through the area, and the streets carry them forward: Gadwall Lane, Wigeon Lane, Teal Lane, and Shorebird Lane. It is a small detail, but it gives the community a distinctive, cohesive identity that residents are proud of.
Built for modern country living
For all its natural character, Wild Wing Preserve is set up for how people actually live now. Paved private roads run through the community, underground utilities include electricity, and high-speed fiber internet is available. That combination, gated privacy plus real connectivity, is exactly what draws buyers who want acreage without feeling cut off.
Close enough to everything that matters
From the preserve it is about 15 minutes to Columbus for groceries, dining, and services, and roughly 75 minutes to Houston. I-10 and State Highway 71 put Katy and Austin within a reasonable drive, so the community works for a primary residence, a weekend retreat, or an investment.
The homesite at 324 Shorebird Ln
Shorebird Lane is home to the 2.01-acre homesite we represent. It offers roughly 170 feet of frontage, 185 feet across the rear, and nearly 470 feet of depth, with mature oaks and a pond on the land.
